Slightly Beached

Spotted this this afternoon.

Perhaps someone can guess where it is and what it is exactly?

Doesn't appear to be damaged in any way, yet.

Re: Slightly beached

(sigh) Reminds me: I need a bottom paint job. Seems like this vessel resolved the problem of occasional haul-outs.

Re: Slightly beached

Sounds about right (Middle Park)... Melbourne would have been close enough!

I don't know much about the design, it's quite an interesting concept really, moreso how one hull is longer than the other, as that would be difficult when the marina is wondering how much to charge you for your berth.

Re: Slightly beached

No idea where it is but I think the cat is a Proa. But then again I've been very wrong before.

Re: Slightly beached

Hello all,
have to agree with aussieman that it appears to be a Proa design by Rod Denney. The proa internet site shows a very similar cat.

I used to windsurf there. I see that the place has been taken over by the skateboarders of the sailing world.

There is no cat on the beach and there is a link to the actual vessel a few posts before yours.

Re: Slightly beached

Not knowing what a Proa was I looked it up on Google,

It still looks like a cat to me, Or a Multihull of some sort, But thanks for the heads up on it,

Re: Slightly beached

2 hulls = catamaran

I don't think the rules say that they have to be the same size hulls.

Perhaps loosely you could argue that it's an outrigger...
