Seawind or Balance

Seawind 1250/1260 or Balance 451.

Considering these two cats. Seawind seems to have more room...

any input?

Thanks,

meatservo

Re: Seawind or Balance

I've been on the balance 451 and never been on the seawind 1250/1260 but would like to. I have been on the seawind 1160 lite which is galley down. If seawind 1250/1260 is galley down I would expect it to have more salon room. Balance 451 has daggers which consume some space too. I thought both the boats 1160 and 451 sale very well.

Re: Seawind or Balance

The 1260 is due out this summer according to Seawind. They are mainly galley down. I think it looks better than the 451.

I like real glass windows on the 451. Daggerboards...mini keels or both.
Salon is really cramped compared to Seawind.

Seawind now offer dagger boards and lift and rudders in the 1190 so would be interesting to see if they could Also offer the same in the 1260 which would be a more like per like comparison with the balance,

The new styling of the 1260 is proving very popular with a number of recent sales at the Sydney Boatshow, the galley down makes a lot of sense on vessels less than 45 feet as this frees up the saloon area to be more of a relaxing / chill out zone rather than a food preparation area.

Thanks,

depends where you are as well. Declared pricing has the seawind 100K (USD) less expensive than the Balance. In Australian dollar terms that is Around $130,000 plus another 10K difference in GST. So the extra for a balance is rapidly approaching $150K Aus. Shipping will be marginally cheaper on the Seawind as well.

That is a lot of dollar difference. I think Seawind 1260 is roughly 40 feet and Balance is somewhere between 44 and 45 feet

Seawind or Balance

I thought the balance was a poorly made copy of a montebello sold buy a used car salesman.

12.45 metres for the seawind - 13.6 for the Balance

I saw both at the boat show">Miami boat show, but the Seawind was an 1190.

I am new to this cat industry, I thought Berman was a reputable guy, don't know the man, boat was nice, but the Seawind seemed to be more open in the salon.

I actually started looking at Seawind from your posts and videos Andrew, thanks.

Appreciate the replies.

I'm liking this on the 1260. Wish I could find some actual pics of the boat.

OK, How about Seawind 1260 vs. Voyage 480...

Any thoughts?

Thanks...
