I hope their pics of the 1600 aren't final - I see no hatches topside for air down below. That seems to be counter to the Seawind design philosophy.

I am interested to learn more about the 1260. Hopefully it has a price point that is more competitive with the big 3.

Nice to see some new performance cruiser's. The 1190 looks very nice but would look much more modern with vertical or reverse bows.

The 1600 used to be known as the Corsair 51 - I believe a couple were made "Paw Paw" and "Mango Moon" in Thailand about 2010/11.

Vietnam - not Thailand. At the Corsair/Seawind Factory. And yes based on the 51, but with many improvements from the learnings of the first boats

I was really excited when I saw the boats being developed by Corsair prior to the Seawind purchase. Four things really stand out for me...1) the super low draft of less than 2' with the swing up rudders 2) the galley island, I've always thought galleys should dominate the saloon, the cockpit being where people should prefer to eat 3) the dual helms that are still protected, unlike Some other's dual helms that are too exposed 4) just 2 heads. I don't like maintaining heads! I was crushed when the boat seemed to disappear after Seawinds acquisition. Great to see her back! What lines, really hot.

One negative, though. Mango Moon has sail drives. I don't know about Paw Paw. Hopefully Seawind elects to use shaft drives. I thing the engines are placed forward enough to accommodate them.

What don't you like about sail drives?

Shafts are cheaper, simpler, more reliable, lighter , not susceptible to electrolysis less maintenance and they are far easier to keep clean underwater. Lastly, in the event you hit something with a sail drive you are far more likely to have copious amounts of agua onboard and great difficulties stopping it. If a shaft falls out, plug it with a rag. I think the question to be asked is why sail drives? But let's not high jack the thread.

According to a press release from Seawind a first customer has ordered a 1600.

I took some footage (58 Seconds into the enclosed vid) of the 1600 when in the factory last month, current bridge deck furniture shown in the vid is all being replaced so only really take the outside shots for what they are, will be back there again to collect my own boat in the new year so can probable post an update for those interested in the 1600, it's a very big boat, looks light and fast, comes with sail drives, apparently it's being shipped to Europe to be launched mid next year,
