Seawind 1160 Wind Generator Mount?

Anyone able to supply a photo of how a windgen is mounted onto a Seawind 1160?

My metal fabrication guy doesn't know where to start. We can't use the solar panel mounts because they aren't strong enough, and we need to retain the davits for the tender.

Help please!

I installed a Rutland 913 on my 1160 a couple of years ago. I used a 16' pole mounted on the port lowest step. It is a very tight insatllation due to the length of the boom.

I have a number of pictures but am unsure on how to insert them in this forum. I could email them to you.

The 'official' Seawind mount is central though... I wonder how they do it?

I was concerned with the windgen throwing a shadow on the solar panels. In North America the prevailing trade winds blow from the East so when anchored for long periods in semi tropical areas, the sun is mostly on the starboard side. That is why I wanted the windgen on the Port side.

I assume you could come off the targa with a "L" shaped pole and use that for a mount.

Yep... but the 'L' will need lateral and vertical support somehow.

I saw another cat that came off his stainless arch with a 2" stainless "L" and it stood alone without any supporting stays. It was about 3' above the arch.

You might be able to do that on a stainless mount, but the 1160 targa is fibreglass so I would reckon multiple mounts would be needed to keep the thing from pulling out.
