Re: Schionning Wild Cat 350 Mkii, Should I Buy ?
I was considering one of these cats a few years ago, following a lead from someone on this forum I made contact with one of the guys involved with the building of these boats.
Following his advice I decided to spend more money on another boat.

I've seen a Lavezzi for a similar price to that Wildcat. What do you think Dragon Lady, is US $220-250k for a Lavezzi a good price?
There's one on Catamarans.com

Would you believe I flew down yesterday to make a serious offer and it was sold an hour before getting to the boat. Such is life.
Going to look at a Seawind this morning, not much choice in the under $300k category in oz

If you're interested in a boat that will SAIL, and is very nicely built, this might be worth a look: ORAM 44C boat details - BoatPoint Australia

I like the saloon windows for the tropics.

Just a side question that I will throw out there. One thing that always frustrates me with a lot of boats is why the hell do they screw the hinges on the outside of the cupboards so that they are visible? It just looks so cheap & nasty - surely they could use hinges that were obscured.
How would you like to get your kitchen renovated with a new fitout and come home to find that they had screwed all the cupboard hinges on the outside because it was faster and easier?

Guess it's because nice shiney SS hinges cost so much, might as well show them off...
The hinges they use in most kitchens are pretty fast and easy to fit too.
My internal cupboard hinges are mostly concealed though.
Galley:
For the OP, there's also a couple of Schionning Wilderness 1030's for sale on boatpoint. They'd be owner built, which would likely mean finishing might not be to the standard of the Wildcat, but the important structural stuff is probably much better. Well under the $300k mark too.

Your galley fitout looks fantastic and of very high quality. It makes such a difference when you do not see the unsightly look of hinges on the outside of the cupboards.

Just curious, but are you in 'Damper' WA or in Dampier? I only ask because I worked out of Dampier for several months back in the late 70's.
I did a lot of the oceanographic instrumentation work for the Rankin field, back when there was nothing there.
Spent a lot of time in Dampier and Karratha

Cannibal, I live in Dampier WA Australia

Thanks, that very nice of you to say. In truth though, I went for flush doors and concealed hinges because I though it would be easier!

The Tasman 35 appears to have a massive amount of space, particularly in the staterooms versus many other types. Don't know much of their sea-going qualities though.
