pirate Re: Santander, Spain to Shoreham on Sea.. have a laugh..

Was hoping to leave today but... no Camping Gaz till 0900 tomorrow..
But they say.. these things happen for a reason..
Yeah..!! No Flipping Gaz...
Ahh well.. just about all together apart from a trip to the Mercado.. dinks pumped up and lashed up front.. all sails rigged, batteries charged up (just hope they hold their load.. go down to 12.6v after sunset.. but stay there till am with no draw).
Looks like some crap coming through at the w/end so if not La Rochelle.. at least Bordeaux before the **** hits the fan.
Would have preferred a straight across but 30+kts forecast is a bit daunting in an as yet untried by me boat of 26ft..
Mind.. they are claimed unsinkable with real watertight compartments.. reviews claim 8+ knots on a broad reach in an F5 on the Solent so should average 5kts if all is favourable..
Only thing killing me is the 4.9-ish headroom in the salon.. my aching back.. developing a pointed head going in and outa the doorway..
Fingers crossed the gods will be smiling..

Re: Santander, Spain to Shoreham on Sea.. have a laugh..

We stayed on a HT after our first Insatiable was dismasted. It had come clear to Oz on its own bottom.

Make sure the water's okay, eh, Boatie...;-), and pack some of your favorite beverage for your b'day. Should be a pretty innocuous voyage, slow and easy does it.

A.

Well...

I guess you won't be concerned about being becalmed for this romp...

Enjoy the ride, and hopefully you'll run into another set of lovely twins for your belated birthday present....

Re: Santander, Spain to Shoreham on Sea.. have a laugh..

Funny, I've registered in the forum a couple of days ago, and one of the first new threads is about sailing from my hometown to England... In fact, I was following you in Spot and I've seen your boat departing this morning from my window! I suppose you won't be reading this until arrival at La Rochelle, unless you've got satellite internet, but have a nice voyage!

I would suggest doing a runner from the restaurant would be a good next move

...Watched you arrived on the Spot website.

When are you planning to leave on the next leg and where to next?

Just eat it, Boatie...... Don't fuss, I bet you've had lots worse. And you did order it, after all! Wouldn't want to waste the pesos, eh?

Cheers mate, and have a good trip.

He's on the move!

Wouldn't have thought he's going too far on this leg as it's still forecast to blow a hoolie late tonight.
