Re: Royal Cape Catamaran Info wanted...

Easyier to contact the factory and Buy Brand New
Pros : They make about Four per year
Each are rather custom because they only make Four per year
Great Sailing Boat
Inexpensive at only $ 1.5 million or so
Cons : They make about Four per year
Hard to find one for sale because they make Four per year

Hope you find what you are looking for

Re: Royal Cape Catamaran Info wanted...

Hi,
I looked at the 500 and i think the interior looks very luxurious. However a few things put me off.
1. The bridgedeck height is low for a boat that size meaning its likely to slam in poor weather which could be uncomfortable.
2. It looks very wide to me for its length as its almost the same width as the Neel 51 Trimaran. This is great for interior space but means less maneuverability or ease of getting it parked in a marina.
3. The above plus its a bit podgy (heavy) and with only a reasonable sail area, all make it a slow boat. Not a problem if that is not what you're after I'm just saying it failed my shortlist.
4. I felt it was a bit dated in its design but thats a personal opinion.
5. I would agree with the other comment in that i would expect the build quality to be very good.

I think as a liveaboard or cruiser it would be fine and offers beautiful accommodation but as i wanted a blue water passage maker it failed against other makes.
Hope that helps.
