You guys ought to see the work Larry did. If it had been brought to completion it would rival Rikki, only 4 feet longer. But it's mine now and i'm under a lot of pressure to try to finish it to the quality of larry's work.

The real issue is to bring the boat to the point of sailing, and it will do it well. Marples designs are progressive and lend themselves to function rather than fad. Just my opinion.

Let me distill the situation a bit further:

I have a boat
Larry has a lien
If you want it,
you have to pay off larry
and me.

There is no reason for an apology. It is I that offer you my apology for failing to thank you for your efforts. I apologize and I thank you. I regret that my actions have been interpreted as combative or appear to punish good deeds. It was never my intention. And yes, your intention to keep the project from crashing was worthy of your post, so please continue to do so and accept my apology.

It never occurred to me that anyone in particular let alone you was attempting to hijack the thread. It was a general statement made to all in the interest of the community because I didn't think it would be fair for someone to have to read through 100 posts "for sale" before they could offer me assistance as originally requested.

Even to the point where it is now, I still don't consider it a hijack, because in all reality, clarity is being given on my initial confusion.

Please don't take offense at my written word. Given some time, you will find that I don't live like that.

Was looking around some more. Anybody have any advice on this model? Personal experience? Might it be a bit too big or difficult to handle?

I wrote the broker and again got limited response to my questions. He said that they power washed it and looks a lot better and there are no soft spots or leaks?

MARPLES 44 TRIMARAN FOR SALE-BARGAIN
Greetings,

This Marples 44 trimaran project was posted as 'for sale' on this list in the past.

The boat is once again available as the purchaser (Robert) has backed out of the contract.

The boat MUST be removed from its present site right away.

I will sell this boat project for $5,000 or I will accept offers for
consideration. The payment MUST BE CASH, and the boat MUST be moved from the site.

The boat is a Marples Constant Camber 44 M tri. The hull is about 90%
complete. I am selling the complete project including plan set, hull,
material on hand, and 20ft container.

This project is located in Southern California.

The materials used are all top quality including Honduras mahogany, Douglas fir and Ockume plywood. The epoxy is System Three. The workmanship is top quality.

The interior is ready for varnish, and the exterior is primered. Interior
cabinet fronts have not been made, so the interior can be completed as
desired.

Two 32 gal water tanks are installed, but not plumbed, and a holding tank is built in under the sail bin.

I am glad that the boat is going to a new home. If it had been closer to home it would have been me.

I also have a PDQ 36. PM me with the year and serial # and we can talk about specifics. The Capella was continuously improved throughout its production life. One of the last ones produced is on the market for less than $300K, but even the oldest is worth more than $100K. We have a very active Owners Association, and I suspect there are a higher percentage of PDQs actively cruising than most other marques. It is not most people's choice for a circumnavigation. The 40-somethings are.
