Recommendations for Sparkling Charters

HI all,

We are looking at purchasing a 2010 Lagoon or Salina through Sparkling Charters out of Martinique. Does anyone know this company? How well do they manage? Whats the maintenance program like? What condition do the boats come out at the end of contract? Any owners have their boats with them?

Thanks a lot.

I have no knowledge of the charter company, but I know a lot about the Salinas as I own and love one.
What Lagoon are you comparing the Salina with?

Re: Recommendations for Sparkling Charters

Hi Spiv,

We are looking at the Lagoon 440? We are going to try and hire both in St Maarten in July.

Hiring both is the thing you can do!

I have been on a Lagoon 440 in harbour, so cannot comment on performance or monouvrability, you will be able to compare. She is very nice inside.

I can see both bows and sterns from my driving station, can turn the boat on a pin at 1/2 knot or less as the prop stream hits the rudders and magnify trust.

I can zip/ unzip the sail bag in seconds.

There are differences and similarities, both will hold their value.

Hopefully you will be able to try both in a bit of sea, most boats are much the same in calm waters.
It would be nice to hear your impression after the charter.
