Re: Pure magic cat wrecked off NSW south coast.

If you were going to say something that starts with a "G," then no, it's not one of those.

Re: Pure magic cat wrecked off NSW south coast.

Probably looks more like an early model Lagoon 440.

Nah the 440 is a lot more square than that cat.
Probably would not have made it to shore either

Yep - you definitely aren't sure. Nothing remotely like it. I think a trip to the optometrist is in order. At first I thought it could be easy but still unconvinced, of course given that easy's ( a boat I like) are owner built there can be differences around saloon/cabin top styling. Other thought was maybe a Hitchhiker, but its hard to tell what it is and easy to tell what it isnt (or wasn't).

In fact after watching the video News Video - I wonder if you weren't being mischevious.

1st Photo is the wrecked boat
2nd is SW1000
3rd is easy 10.5
4th is a side view of the wrecked boat.

Re: Pure magic cat wrecked off NSW south coast.

A photo of this boat, Pure Magic, has been posted on another forum.

Photo of Pure Magic in Mackay 4 years ago

While, at first appearance, this does not look identical, this photo is apparently 4 years old, and I think that the side windows in the dodger have been added since.

Re: Pure magic cat wrecked off NSW south coast.

That one looks a bit more like it, and looks like a barstadised Hitchhiker, which is sort of supported by what the copper said about the rudder coming up, HH have a external transom hung rudder. Definitely not an easy now I have seen a bit more and revisited the footage.

Perhaps. It looks nothing like a Seawind. The dodger looked a little like a Gemini but the rest clearly didn't.
