Prout Ranger 27 - Anyone Experienced One ?

I am looking for a small 27-30' catamaran in the Florida area to liveaboard in Bahamas and later the Caribbean. I love the Catalacs but can't find one for sale. I have seen a 27' Prout Ranger on Yachtworld and wondered if anyone has experience of sailing or cruising one. I am familiar with the strong build of the Prouts having seen many of them around in Europe but have not seen the small Ranger before. I can see from the listing that it needs a major cleanup but that's fine with me. I want to make some changes anyway adding a composting toilet and to re-power with an electric engine. Love to hear any comments on the Prout, and if anyone knows of a Catalac 28 or 30 for sale on the East coast of US, Bahamas or Caribbean.

There's a Ranger 27 for sale over this side... it looks similar to the Catalac from this picture... dunno what they're like though... and it looks a better deal... even if it is older.

Being a former Prout employee, I have a beautiful Ranger 31 for sale. Have owned her for 20 years so have had plenty of time to restore her to better-than-new condition. Have been extremely pleased with her and am only selling because I want to buy a bigger boat (Mahe 36). She is available on the gorgeous island of Chios in the Greek Aegean. Sailing from here is truly fantastic: loads of Greek islands and Turkey only 5 miles away. She has been stored on the hard at a local friendly yard whenever not used. The boat as well as the location can be really recommended. Please let me know if you`d like any more info.
