Is anyone still reading this thread? I bought a 1987 Snowgoose Elite this morning (my 8th. multihull over 30+ years) I need new spreaders - anyone know where I can get them? Also, directions on lowering the mast forward?

Thanks

Jon

My snow Goose has Z-Spar mast & boom, I'd guess going there might be a place to start. Good luck

Was that the one for sale in Brisbane by any chance?

Yes, that's the one. Sadly neglected, but she seems sound. Do you know her? Jon

Only in that we took a look at her too, but decided she wasn't the one for us. Glad to see someone buy her, she seemed very lonely and looking for a good crew! Our sense was the same, looked to be a sound and well built boat, despite being neglected, especially the past year or so as she sat unused and uncared for. I know you've got some projects ahead of you on her, best of luck!

This is a different address from the previous one.
Tony used to be the chairman of the association and very knowledgable about anything Prout.

Hope this helps.

Catmariner. Hope the mast lowering has been achieved by now. I'd love to hear how it went. Brother built his up in Quatar years ago including stepping the mast for the first time. Having sorted crane and hands it turned out very straight forward, almost a one man job. How did it go for you?
Buying an Event 34 soon as house sale goes through, I'll need to know soon.

Re: Prout Owners Unite

Can anyone give me the (standard) measurements for a Prout Snowgoose 37 sail plan i.e. main, Genoa, Staysail, Kite. I have the area but not the measurements. Alternatively how much would I expect to pay for a full wardrobe. This is purely for budgeting.
Thanks

Re: Prout Owners Unite

Curious if any prout owners still visit this site. I’ve been a cf member for several years and until I saw a reference to this section today, I didn’t know it existed.

Looking at past postings suggests that this section didn’t take off.

I’ve got a Prout 34 Snowgoose on the hard near Wasington, DC. I’ve made a career of a refit turned rebuild. I’ve stuck to the project, but I’m growing weary🤞

We live aboard (nearing 3 years now) with our three kids on our Snowgoose 37. We depart next June for 2-5 years cruising in warmer waters.

Re: Prout Owners Unite

Many are probably in the Prout Owners group on Facebook. I do however prefer open threads over closed groups.

1977 Snowgoose 35 here in need of a long winter of love to get it looking good again.

I have seen original owners manuals/handbooks for the 37, 34s etc.. But if anyone has a digital copy of one for the 34/35 I'd love to see it, along with sailplan dimensions.
