Hey all.
I need to replace my uppers on my Even 34 (built in 1990) and the
mast attachment fittings are peculiar. The swage fitting ends with what looks like look like a stem-ball or spoon fitting - popular in the UK (which makes sense being a UK built boat). It's hard to see because the fitting is slotted into an external 'tang' which is a rounded piece of plate steel (like a ball cut in half vertically) which is riveted onto the
mast (my experience with spoon fittings is with internal tangs).
The mast is made by Z-Spars. Don't know if they also made the tangs?
I KNOW I should be adding a picture, but it's too windy to get up the mast right now... will do it tomorrow if I can.
Perhaps another Prout owner knows off-hand what the end fitting really is and if it is possible to get the fitting in North America (we're in
Mexico at the moment, but would obviously order it from the US). Idealy I would be able to get it in a StayLok / Norseman style so I can do it here in
Mexico myself as I have with all of the other shrouds.
Cheers!
