Prout Escale 39 questions

Looked at a 92 Escale 39, some questions id love to get answered.
I have seen cats pyjamas articles, are there any other escales with the same mass of issues?
I noticed most windows leaked, wrong sealant used, needs complete headliner and lots of woodwork amdnelectrical is a rats nest, this i can handle.
I have seen comments that the standing rigging attached to the coachroof leads to failure and issues though have not found a documented case of this. Does anyone have information on this or is it heresay?
Single engine with sonic /sillette leg. Is this very undesireable? Newer versions are twins. Is maneuvering or motoring very poor?
Have they been kjnown for coring issues?
Any other info would be helpful, not sure any offer made would be accepted but we like the boats size and layout.

Re: Prout Escale 39 questions

Check out what Atoll is doing. I thought he was restoring a Prout. There was a thread on this. Use search function top right of the screen.

I bought a '96 Escale earlier this year and keep her in NY. My personal priorities in boats (sail and power - I was a yachtbroker for both) are Visibility, Ventilation. Access to systems, and useable owners manuals. My Escale is a 10 in each of these.

No leaks, although the prior owner replaced all fixed ports. A huge job, for which I am grateful.

I have not come across a single deficiency in design, engineering, or construction.

I offloaded at least a ton of unnecessary weight and now she sails well. Hit 9 knots yesterday for the first time, and I think she will do 10 when I know her better.
