Prout Broadblue 46 Info

Has anyone any information about this Cat?

First hand sailing experience of how they sail would be good.

Prouts are renowned for slamming, but as this is a Broadblue bulid, I was wondering if it still slams? I can't seem to find Clearance specs on the internet for it.

Thanks for the quick reply. There is one currently advertised in Tassie. Was this the one? If so, I would be curious to know of the issues you saw and wonder if they are common to all of these boats. From the ad it looks great.

Re: Prout Broadblue 46 Info

We’re the ones who have put the offer in. We are aware of the need for the standing rigging to be replaced, water in the fuel possibly effecting the injectors and their pumps and a smoky heater in one of the hulls. With the out of water survey and sea trial still to come we still have a chance to walk away.

Did you have a survey? What other issues did you possibly find. Would appreciate all the insights you can provide.

Cheers, Rod

Hi Wiseman, how far did you get with your queries? What were your thoughts? We have signed a contract but still have the opportunity to walk away through “out of water survey” and sea trial.

Hi Waihaka, I have seen this boat advertised “ULUWATU” for just under 300k in Hobart. Is it the same boat? I am in Perth and would not want to waste the travel or compete with another buyer.

Hi Sailto,

Yes, we went to offer on Uluwatu, paid the deposit but eventually decided to walk away. Bought a Perry and are happy with our decision

Hell, we are now looking at this same boat Uluwatu in Hobart and are wondering why you decided to walk away and buy a Perry. We are also considering a Perry. Being new to catamarans coming from years on monohulls we are trying to get as much info as possible. Any info on this one or Perrys would be appreciated. Thanks
