Prout 50SW

I ran across a Prout 50SW built in 2011, and can find barely any information about these boats other than a single article in Sail Magazine. As far as I can tell there's little-to-no association with the older Prouts, just someone acquiring the name and making new cats under it.

Has anyone owned or seen one of these boats? Could you share any insight on them? Does whoever produced them still exist in some form?

Talk to Stephen Cockcroft, zurisails on this forum or on the Catamaran Guru website. He used to be affiliated with the Prout International group.

Re: Prout 50SW

Hi Julian, do you have any idea of how many of the 50SWs were manufactured? It looks like a great boat, how does she sail? You’re not the owner of the one called Discovery, are you?

Thanks

Joe

Thanks

Joe

Re: Prout 50SW

Prout International bought the rights to the name after Prout Catamarans (UK) went bust in 2002 I believe. The marketing office was based out of Hong Kong and the boats (also the Prout 45) were manufactured in China, good quality production I have heard
