It's a 93 according to the data plate. But I didn't think they made them that late.
I didn't see any ball and cup fixtures on the stays at the top of the mast. but like I said I could not see the whole fixture.
All my diamond stays look like stud ends or eye ends. The eye ends go around a pin that I can't get a caliper on to check the size. And I'm sure your right that it's metric. I have yet to find anything on the boat that's imperial.
The other end of the cable is a stud that goes to a turn buckle and then to a stud eye end and again to the metric pin.
These pins are in a captured fixture in the mast. I suspect from past experience on my other boats that these fixtures have a lip that when the screws are removed they can be pushed back into the mast and then tilted to remove them.
So it's the for stay and cap shrouds I could not see and have no Intel on? I wonder if your right and that it's a ball and socket style.
The rigging is original. The boat never left the
med and seems to have spent most of its life in Rome.
I am also going to mechanical fittings.
I just need to find the proper fittings.
I suspect I will have to go to the boat in Dec and drop the mast. Take a cap
shroud and diamond stay set with me home to BC. Send it to rigging only and get them, to source
parts. Then put it all back together when I go back to the boat for another month in April. Puts my trip to
Greece back 6 months but this
project should be done and
Insurance is also demanding it.
Thanks again your info is moving me forward in the project.
