As Factor says, the Roger Hill designed "Montebello 12.5" was shown at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show (Queensland) last year.
Without sailing or living on board my impressions were of a big 42 footer with almost as much interior
space as a Lagoon 420
. Roger Hill designs have always performed well, so I'm sure it would outperform most similarly sized "charter" cats.
I didn't particularly like the helm
position, but it was better than designs that require the helmsman to look through the saloon
front windows and/or lean out of the cockpit
to look down the side of the cabin
The main complaint that owners of Roger Hill designed cats commonly make is of bridge deck
slap in choppy head
seas. This is a particular issue with the 35 foot Hill deigned "Tasman 35". Larger designs by Roger Hill such as this one seem to have a higher bridge deck
without any protuberances, so I'd guess Mr Berman has made a good design choice.
I'm sure that if quality is up and weight is kept down then Mr Berman will have no problem selling this product. But then again, I reckon he could sell sand in the Sahara.
