Re: Phil Berman Builds New Cat In China

Barry,

Before you launch your website could you please also let us know what your credentials are?

Are you a licensed yacht and ship broker?
Accredited marine surveyor?
What is the size of your commercial captains license?
How many catamarans you have delivered/sailed/professionally captained and miles logged on said boats?
Are you an expert on ABYC standards and practices?
Your qualifications as a nautical engineer?
In general what is your background, and why do you feel like you are an expert on catamaran design?

Thanks,
FLLCatsailor

Re: Phil Berman Builds New Cat In China

Members of the FORUM.

I hear what you say but, you say nothing.

You tell me it's all been done before, what has, telling you what you like or, you telling me what you like.

I have not started to tell you what you like, you have not told me yet have you.

Tell me what you like and I will tell you if that is what you are going to get from your Catamaran purchase. If you want Bubble bath, get a Condo. If you want Air con get a Condo.

Please remind me, are we talking about a sailing boat???

I will ask you what you expect from your new purchase, if you tell me you are a Marina babe, 6 g & tee's and a fat Stake, I will tell you, buy a car.

If sailing is on the agenda, I will tell you about that, I will also tell you where to get the nearest stake, or Dun----ing D---ou---nts.

This is a forum for sailors, and I will help you buy the right catarmaran, I rest my case.

Regards

Barry,

You didn't respond to my post...

I think we would all LOVE to hear what makes you an authority...

Just an FYI... When cruising people spend only 30% of the time if that sailing...

FLLCatsailor,

I guess your a Broker, never mind.

If my client says he/she wants to sit in the marina drinking Gin & Tonic, I will tell them to buy a Condo. Unfortunately you might have failed to say which Condo, land or water.

Don't worry guys, I will only tell the Catamaran buyer the truth. Did you???

Re: Phil Berman Builds New Cat In China

Barry,

I am a broker. Before that I was a delivery captain, fleet manager, and charter captain. I am an avid sailor, fisherman, and diver. I am really blessed by the fact that my clients love me because of my honesty, and because of this I am constantly getting invited to go sailing around the world on really nice yachts with them.

You have this idea in your head that all brokers are evil, and that the man is trying to pull the wool over the average buyers eyes. I think you are giving brokers way too much credit in thinking that we are smarter than the catamaran buyer...

There is a reason that production catamarans are so popular, and it isn't because brokers and builders are tricking buyers to part with hundreds of thousands of their hard earned money.

Once again... What are your qualifications? You keep calling yourself a catamaran consultant...

Re: Phil Berman Builds New Cat In China

Bazcatana responding.

I could be a Captain, of what, a ship or a Catamaran.

I ask the question, what are you a Captain of. This begs the question of something the American sailing fernatity must ask themselves, can you sail aboat, or was you on the Bridge??

Do you know how to Anchor a Yacht, I did not once upon a time, but I do now.

Don't hide behind your bits of paper - I am a far better Catamaran sailor than you and I am preparer to tell the truth about Multihull sailing ability, that you know nothing about.

Asking me for bits of paper shows you are not component. Did we both sail in the Olympics, or sail around the World.

Re: Phil Berman Builds New Cat In China

Barry,

Your response is laughable.

I have asked you to simply outline your qualifications/knowledge as to what makes you a catamaran expert. Your refusal to give a straight forward answer simply removes any authority you have on the matter in my opinion.

I wish you luck on your website, and wish you luck in the sale of your Catana 381. Which I am sure is probably the best catamaran ever produced.

Talk about a great thread high jack!
