Ontario, Canada-based Antares Yachts LLC has announced its purchase of the assets and intellectual property of the sailing catamaran business of PDQ Yachts in Whitby, Ontario.

Other Antares Yachts team members include chief designer of the Antares 44 Ted Clements, Salwa Farah working in media and communications, and Chris Calver, who will bring his 10-years' experience at PDQ to his customer support role at Antares Yachts.

The new company will continue to build the Antares 44i, a live-aboard cruising catamaran. The model was presented for the first time under new management at the boat show">Miami Boat Show.

and

True North Yachts/Pearson Composites has acquired the tooling and molds for PDQ power catamarans and the rights to the well-known name.

Production at the new location on Narragansett Bay, in Warren, R.I., is planned to start within 60 days, with new boat deliveries anticipated in late August. We understand that the tradition of PDQ University will continue and PDQ Flotillas to all points of the world will be planned, as well.

To ensure a smooth transition in both production and marketing, Pearson has retained several of the key management staff, of the former PDQ company, as consultants for start-up assuredness.

Just received the latest PDQ news release.

Dear Rick,
Pearson Composites LLC

For those of you who haven't heard, Pearson Composites, LLC announced February 11th that it had acquired the power catamaran business of PDQ Yachts. "We are extremely excited about bringing PDQ into our organization", said Patrick Burke, CEO of Pearson Composites. "PDQ boats align perfectly with Pearson’s strategy of designing, manufacturing, selling and servicing premium luxury branded products for niche markets. PDQ is a wonderful complement to our Alerion Express sailboat and True North powerboat products. All of these boats compliment the unique yachting
interests and lifestyles of our customers".

Further, Dick Tuschick of Rhumb Line Yacht Sales-SE said, "In our initial discussion with the Pearson management team, it is apparent that they share the same values that "we" have enjoyed with the former PDQ company and staff. Namely: pride in the product, commitment to quality, a strong sense of responsibility to the client and a corporate goal of making the yacht-purchasing experience a truly enjoyable one for a
buyer."

Take a minute and visit Pearson’s website Pearson Composites, LLC to learn how they have been leaders in advanced composite technology for over 20 years. You can also visit True North Yachts & Pearson Composites and Alerion Express Sailboat Manufacturer to see the quality, fit and finish that will now be incorporated in the PDQ!

SEVEN POWERCATS DISCOVER THE CHARM OF SCANDINAVIA AND HOLLAND

"The Baltic trip was one of the most exciting and enjoyable in a lifetime of travel. Being on our boats gave us access to the most interesting parts of wherever we found ourselves. It's hard to imagine a better way to discover the fabulous Swedish archipelago and its many quaint anchorages..." Rob and Mamie Cheek aboard PDQ 34 Lulu.

At one time or another, most cruisers dream of distant horizons and exotic ports of call, but relatively few follow those dreams to the point of crossing an ocean or exploring a foreign land - especially in a relatively small powerboat.
