Pacific NW Surveyor?

We are negotiating for a trimaran located in Sydney BC Canada that will be shipped to Maryland. Can anybody recommend a good surveyor for that area?

Thanks,
Leev

Bob Latham https://www.marinesurveyorsnorthwest.com/ e is retired navy and a sailor he has done circumnavigation on his own boat. He did an excellent job for us . Just remember to read his whole web page and tel him about the free engine oil analysis. Also if you do use him tell him that rob from the Spencer 42 recommended him.

Re: Pacific NW Surveyor?

.alisonmazon.com did my survey, spent all day onboard. Had a separate mech survey by a gent that she recommended, Larry Blais.
Both did a great job!

Lynn Reister
Excellent. Best, most thorough survey I've ever seen.

Re: Pacific NW Surveyor?

Make sure whoever you get has experience on type. A mono surveyor will be alright for systems like engine, plumbing and electrical but less qualified for rig loads. A typical fiberglass mono surveyor isn't going to be good for a wood composite tri construction for example. I do my own but have had lots of practice, still if you understand the construction of what you are considering you will save time and money in the long run.

Re: Pacific NW Surveyor?

Please tell us about your multihull. It sounds like it might be a Farrier folding tri.

I bought a tri in the Columbia River a few years ago and Alison Mazon was excellent. However, being from Portland she might not want to travel all the way to BC without the extra costs being covered.

Good luck with your new boat!

RR.

Matt Harris out of Bellingham Wa. did a great job for us a Hostman Tristar Trimaran we bought two years ago. If you use him let him know Dan Hogan recommended him.
