On the hard pricing in Fla and below the box

We are looking to put a 44 Cat of the hard for hurricane season next year.

I have called some places but there are so many places.

We want to live on the boat 6 months starting in January in the Caribbean and then put it on the hard before June 1st.

Does anyone have any suggestions as we are looking at Florida, or just get out of the box all together and keep it down in Trinidad or Grenada.

Someone mentioned here but its still in the hurricane box.

Also I hope the insurance would be cheaper keeping it out of the box and strapped down.

We closing the boat and we really have no help and running out of time.

Regards
Tim

Way too many unknowns.

Sounds like you have no insurance yet and different companies have different rules. Other considerations are how will you get to and from the boat. Keeping it in Miami means cheap easy flights to get to the boat while some of the hurricane holes way South may be hard to get to.

In any case you need someone to check on the boat at least once a month, and hopefully more often; either you or hired help.

Maybe most important is not that the cat is 44', but what it's beam is. Usually 18 or 20 feet is the limit in many places.

My advice would be go to the Rio and keep the boat in the water.

Thanks Tomfl,

We have decided to keep it on the hard in Trinidad.

Rio is less money but its in the water.

Thanks for taking time to help us.
