no such thing as a cheap boat!

I know I'm not the only one out there who has bought a fixer-upper, and even if you didn't, we all know the jobs just keep on coming!
this isn't really a forum post, just a heads up if anyone out there is interested in tracking the progress of a former day charter cat, rescued from her years of indentured servitude, bought back to her former beauty, and turned into a functional live-aboard, maybe one day a business, but always a home!
the blog is in its early days, but if you've had to or still have to - remove a teak deck, completely rewire, re-plumb, re-rig, repaint, re-sail, or have questions about composting heads and non-skid choices; I think I'll get around to covering it all!

many thanks to everyone on here, a lot of my decisions, good and bad, have come from this forum, and now that I have left the states, I hope to be able to pass on some of the knowledge I've learned to others!
would love any feedback you guys may have on the site too!
Thanks
Terry

That's a nice looking boat! Who's the designer?

I'm glad to see she is in good hands, I walked past Sea Raven a number of times and contemplated calling to get on board to have a closer look. After my wife reminded me that I would frequently state "No more project boats' after we finished refitting our old Pearson, I never made the call.

It looks like you are making her a comfortable cruising platform

Re: no such thing as a cheap boat!

Her design history is a little murky! So far as I can find out, Jim Brown of North Carolina, not the Jim Brown of trimaran fame, modified the C/S/K design for Sea Smoke, James Arness' cat from the 60's. Sea Raven was built in Chesapeake Bay and finished in 78.
And funnily enough, my wife is already shouting no more project boats, and we haven't finished this one!
another 6 weeks in Ensenada before we head south, so should have some interior before/after photos up before then...
