Always wondered how it was up there for sailing. My wife's sister and brother in law live in NE Canton and we'll probably be visiting them again this fall.
I do enjoy sailing the Wharram 23 cat that the club has from time to time.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

I'll look up Perry Township and see where they live too. Can't be that big an area can it?

Aloha JB,
I found Perry on the map and my in-laws live on the opposite side of Canton from you up on Hahn Rd. I remember driving through Masillon on the way to their place from Chicago.
How long a drive is it to your boat?
Regards,
JohnL

mileage

hello John,

It takes 2hr. from our house to Catwba Island.
You said you were wandering how it was to sail on lake erie....great...

Erie is the shallowest of the great lakes so you have to keep a eye on the weather. They come up fast a can cause very large waves. We have been
lucky and fortunate not be out there in a storm.

The reason we got a cat was we rented one in fla. for a week and my wife really liked no healing and the room on the boat.

going from a 26ft 8ft beam to a 30 ft 14ft beam is a great change...

Were are you located there in Hawaii.....some people have all the luck..

jack

Aloha Jack,
We're on the Big Island, Hawaii, near Hilo. Takes me 20 minutes to get to the bay. Even Paradise is not perfect. No Marinas, no Marine stores, no boat ramp for sailboats (have to go under a 12 foot clearance bridge to launch). So, although it could be perfect, the government doesn't allow boater friendly improvements.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
