New to us FP Tobago 35!

We sold our Hunter 405 and have sent the wire transfer for our "new to us" Fountaine Pajot 35 Tobago. We had it hauled and surveyed it last week - it's on blocks at Wayfarers Cove near Oriental for some minor repairs. I'm excited to finally have the boat to fit in our 26' wide slip! I'm sure I'll have lots of questions here as we begin this new adventure!

Congrats! I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Have you read Irie's Blog? They have the same boat and it's done well for them. Currently cruising the South Pacific.

It's Irie

Congratulations. We looked at a few FP's before we settled on our cat. They are beautiful boats.

Oriental is a great cruiser hangout. Hope to see you out there.

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

Irie and our Tobago, 'Lauren Marie' spent the summer of 2007 together while we got our boats ready to go cruising. Irie is a 1998 version and ours is a 1994 version. What year is yours?

Any questions, just ask.

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

I've already read some of the Irie blog!

Ours is a 1993, pretty good survey. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions!

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

Congratulations, and fair winds.

The Tobago 35 was the first cruising catamaran I ever sailed and we chartered two different ones in the BVI (1997 2-cabin, 2-head & 1999 3-cabin, 1-head).

If we could have found the right one, that might be our boat too!

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

Jerry and Mallory - good to hear from someone so close by! We'll look you up once we get on the water. We'll probably be at Wayfarers Cove in Minnesott for a week or two getting a bit of fiberglass/gelcoat work done.

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

Hi:

We have a Tobago (Cat Tales), and tell a lot about it here:

Cat Tales

More specifically, we try to keep this information about how we like it, repair it, and modify it up to date:

Tobago 35 Personal Perspective

You can also be directed to our weblogs at the main page.

I/we would love to have similar information from you and anyone else who has a Tobago. At the moment, we are attempting to source reasonably similar plumbing fixtures for the kitchen and bathroom. The highest priority is the bathroom tap/shower hose and nozzle. The flexible metal casing is broken below the sink, and hanging by the plastic interior hose, while the nozzle is getting brittle. The hose is unique in that it has small fittings. I would need to change the hole fixture to get an off-the-shelf hose through. The nozzle is unique in that it direct the flow through two right angles such that it doubles as the tap at the sink.

Re: New to us FP Tobago 35!

Hi, we don't have a source for the faucet. We did search for replacement handles to no avail. Our faucet handles were corroded. With a good bit of anti corrosion spray, we cleaned them up enough to continue use. The brand on ours is CPI, which is a current vendor online, the just don't list anything like our setup. (We also did an exhaustive search on RV supply websites and had no luck with anything close either!)

Have you inquired at Fountaine Pajot service? I've had excellent luck sending them a photo of what I need - they respond quickly with price and shipping costs.

Sorry I'm not more help, good luck!
