Solo around the world?

Sounds illegal and dangerous to me.

The regulations says a vessel must have a look-out all the time.

Would hate to be run over by ove of these fast monsters sailing at 15 knots while somebody is down below sleeping.

Just so they can make headlines...

The Boat

Ellen’s record breaker:

Yachtswoman Ellen MacArthur is clearly made of steel, but the equally special trimaran that carried her round the world, solo, in record time, is made of carbon composite. George Marsh reports on the construction of B&Q Castorama.

Ellen MacArthur - Bid for Transatlantic Record:

ELLEN ANNOUNCES BID FOR SOLO TRANSATLANTIC May 27, 2005
Timing is everything... Today the B&Q trimaran returned to the water after her repairs as Ellen confirms her plans to make a second bid for the solo transatlantic record later this year on the very day Joyon abandons his attempt on the same record! Roland Jourdain will join MacArthur on board B&Q for their attempt to establish a new crewed Plymouth-Roscoff record next Friday for the Brittany Ferries 100 Mile Trophy. And Ellen reveals plans to head to South Georgia this winter. Full story below..
