Re: New Multi Price Lists

No, folding props and larger engines were in the "pretty good spec" as Yeloya alludes to, as was bowsprit, slatted beds, and extra battery capacity which in my view are must have.

Extras were

Solar
Watermaker
TV
Wifi
Bimini
Cockpit clears
Fresh water plumbing
Extra fridges and freezer
Microwave
Washer / Dryer
12 V Fans
Generator
Battery Monitor
Bilge pumps converted to auto
Air Con
Screecher and rigging
Extra Plotter and displays
Hypalon dingy and outboard
Safety Gear
Inner spring mattres
Extra lighting
Upgrade anchor (Rocna)
Total Boat wax
Baitboards

At FP prices this easily comes to 100K Euro

Also add

radar
wifi for ipad to garmin equipment

The lagoon price was just for comparison. I would never buy a Lagoon on the basis of aesthetics, but the decision is also easy as the support for the product in Australia is pretty much non existant, as any local lagoon supplier will testify.

What about Leopard pricing? No-one has mentioned this?

Re: New Multi Price Lists

Difficult to make comparisons on Leopard as the prices are not denominated in Euro.

What I can say is that a L480 apples for apples is cheaper in Australia than a Helia. If you can live with the layout then it is a pretty good value proposition.

Re: New Multi Price Lists

Any denomination will do. We're all big boys and girls and can do the exchange rates.

I realize that new boat prices are not an apples to apples comparison but the base price gives us a starting place.

I was hoping Factor would post the Seawind prices. Factor are you out there?

And who is the member that is a Leopard dealer? CRS is getting worse every day.

Re: New Multi Price Lists

I was told at the Sydney boat show by the leopard distributor that they could do an apples for apples L480 "reasonable spec" for around A$20K cheaper than the Helia, so that would make it around the equivalent of the 10K Euro cheaper than Helia.

Frankly, however, I have learned not to trust anything told to me until I get a quote in front of me.

I think we can say as a rough rule of thumb that the Lagoon 450, Leopard 480 and the Helia 44 are around the same price give or take.

Re: New Multi Price Lists

Gee i hadnt looked closely but new boats in AUDs sure got expensive again pretty quick!

Good thing sydney property has gone up enough to cover the price jumps due to exchange rates eh

good old swings and roundabouts. Timing is everything.

Im with you DD - used boats in Oz will be a good proposition again after a few years of not so much

Re: New Multi Price Lists

The French mag Multihulls World has their annual buyers guide out this month. It lists every new multi's price. I just went to Barnes & Noble here in Montana to buy it but it won't be here for a couple of days. You can download it now but I'm old school and still like something I can hold in my hand so I will wait.
All the editions of Multihulls World, digital and paper versions - Magazines - All the latest catamaran and trimaran news - multihulls-world.com - Page 1

A magazine printed in France about sailboats comes all the way here. Crazy. I was born there btw. But an army brat so all I got is this crappy US citizenship.

Nous Sommes Charlie and Viva La France!!!!

Re: New Multi Price Lists

When you add to a Lagoon 450 the items you want to make it a little more comfortable you can forget the basic list price as everything will cost, always good remember you get what you pay for.

I recently wanted an additional 12v point added and was quoted S$192.00 +GST +Courier Fees, so l brought the exact same unit and brand via the net in the UK and had it delivered to me in Singapore for S$14.85, mmm someone is making a lot of money....

Having said that, they are a great boat 😃😃😃

Aesthetics...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We love the look of our L440, both from the outside and (perhaps especially!) from the inside.

Support used to be difficult, but it is now much improved. After allowing time for anything that needs to be brought out from Europe, we are now happy with our Lagoon product support from Vicsail.

Very relevantly too, from comments by many others on this Forum, it seems that product support is an issue with virtually all vessel builders...and FP is no exception.

Re: New Multi Price Lists

I forgot about that magazine but now it is in my hands. If anyone is going to purchase a new multi this year then you really need to get it or download it. I purchased it here in Montana at Barnes & Noble. It is Mutihulls World (French mag), Jan/Feb 2015 edition. It lists the base price for every multi currently in production and some that may be in production. All prices in Euros.

The list price for Leopards are:
L40 269K
L44 345K
L48 439K
L58 929K

I can look up others if you ask nicely.

Does the mag detail what's included in the list prices?

At the risk of stating the obvious, list prices are certainly relevant and interesting, but if our experience is any guide they are a very long way from any apples-to-apples comparisons. Back when we were looking to buy, we were amazed at what some builders considered 'optional'...anti-foul? anchor?!? Back then, Seawind were perhaps the only major production line whose 'sail away' price actually represented a vessel on which you would be safe to sail away!

So we suggest you make up your checklists of what you want on your vessel and then look at what's included in the 'list' and cost what you'll need to add.

Not sure though whether Sand crab will be also offering to detail the what's included behind the list prices, if that info is in the mag...

Re: New Multi Price Lists

No real details, you'll have to go to that companies website for that. You can bet that the boats are pretty basic. There are some like the Antres 44, Maine Cat 41, and some Seawinds that have better equipment included.

MW lists sail and engine size, tankage, and displacement though. For instance the L44 is 12615 Kg.
