An older Manta 38 or 40 might be within your budget. The interior layout of the 38/40/42 are all the same, only the bows and transoms have been extended since the 38. All have separate shower stalls in both heads, and galley up layout. No exterior wood to maintain either. Many have a washer/dryer too, a great convenience for a live aboard.

Other live aboard considerations: Does it have a rubrail? How is the sun protection in the cockpit? How much refrigeration space is there and how well insulated is it? Does it have usable interior storage for clothing, food, books, etc. Charter cats are built with a different set of priorities, so keep this in mind as you look around.

We started to see what all are mentioning here in this thread when we looked at the Privilege. We maybe looking at a Manta or a Lagoon since they seem to have more headroom and more usable room. Yes,,,,washer dryer is a BIG plus!!!!
