Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

I received an email today from the Annapolis FP dealer. In it, they mentioned that the 41 and 36 (Lipari and Mahe?) will soon be replaced with a new 40. They claim it will have more space than the 41 and the price of the 36. Sounds intriguing, but I can't find any information outside of their email. (They also say they have already sold 4 of the new 40'er.)

ask them for a brochure. If they have already sold 4 units they surely have one.
A 40ft cat for the price of 36ft? Sounds too good to be true

Unless they have figured out some new economy of scale in the design/production process. Surely something new will evolve from a decades old composite production process that turns out a luxury product with a stable market demand. Also, FP is tracking what Leapord is doing no doubt with the new L40. This could be their response.

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Considering the USD/EUD rate it's likely just a sales pitch. Yes a 40' cat should probably cost around the same as the older model 36' did in USD. Will be interested to see it.

The boat is slightly smaller than the Lipari (remember Lipari 41 is not 41 ft but below 40 ft) while the list price is about the same as the Lipari...

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

I also received a "secret confidential" email a few weeks ago but I guess it's no longer the case. The mini brochure they sent was pretty spartan but touted new production methods which resulted in larger interior volume and more interior space than the 41. They also said all the berths were "island" berths which apparently is not usual in a cat this size. No pictures just renderings .
The four they have "sold" are just place holds for production slots ( with $10k refundable deposits) until the buyer can see the boat . To be released at dealer show in France in June

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Maybe they really have a new 40footer. It seems the Mahe has been removed from the production line: Looking for advice on purchasing new

I am quite sure they won't stick too their Mahe pricing (maybe in USD but not in EUR).
According to Kiriacoulis the base price for the Mahe is 184k EUR, and the Lipari is 258k EUR.
Lagoon 380 is 198k, the Lagoon 39 is 244k and the Lagoon 400 is already 264k.

I hope this is no sales pitch but I'm afraid there will be no moer entry level cats. Only the big ones. We will see when Lagoon drops the 380...

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Does anyone have anymore info on the new models? Renderings?

I like the Saba, but it's prob. bigger than I need...

I'm interested in these "new production methods" and wonder if it's weaker or stronger.

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Lipari is 11.95 (39.2 ft) and the new one 11.75 (38.5 ft) ..
Mahé won't exist anymore. Is it too big for an entry level ? Maybe, but everyone is asking for a larger boat nowadays. 10 years ago entry level mono was 30-32 ft, today is min 36-38 ft. The same for cats; today mid range moved from 40-41 to 44-45 ft, thus it's logical to consider 38,5 as entry level, obviously for those who can afford it. As a matter of fact, new boat's top of the list (owner version) is 248.000 € + oceanique pack 32.000 € (pretty basic staff) + electronics, safety gear min. 20.000 € + 16.000 € masting, internal transport you come up to K316 K delivered in La Rochelle..I think more info will be released pretty soon.

Cheers

Yeloya

Thanks Yeloya. I'm guessing it will be a scaled down Helia. Pretty easy to do and considering the popularity of the Helia a good compromise for anyone wanting a slightly smaller less expensive cruiser. The Helia has the space to reduce it by 4' without making many compromises. Do you have FPs estimate on tonnage?

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Priced like the similar sized Lagoon 39.

Nice for those who can afford it, but that brings the barrier of sailing a production cat some 30% higher.

Now I own an endagnered species

New FP 40

I just received something from a friend's friend confirming the rumour that FP Mahe and Lipari are no longer in production.

A new 40ft will be introduced at the Salon Nautique Paris. Which is still 6 months away.

Here are some drawings and pricing.
