Re: New FP 40

Why is a so called metric country still referring to boats by feet. Surely America is not the only FP market?

Makes it sound larger than in meters. FP have always stretched even the feet with their models.

Re: New FP 40

People get so caught up on a number. Seriously would anyone go I'm comparing a Lipari 41 with a Lagoon 400 without looking at the real numbers? Even then do you count with or without Bowsprit. Marina's count them. Its a model number not a size. On my Lipari it shows 41 not 41ft.

Lets face it no one I know thinks a Mitsubishi Colt is really a horse (Dog maybe, mine was certainly a lemon, but not a horse). Ask most women, men often exaggerate size. (Not me or you of course, but some do)

I like that my Lipari is 11.95 meters. Means I can fit in a 12 mtr berth by that little bit. Saves money in a marina, and glad it is 6.75 mtrs wide as here most 12 mtr multihull berths are max 6.9 mtrs wide. Means a Lagoon 400 is forced to go into a 13.5 or 14 mtr berth at additional cost.

The new 40 is nice but I like my Lipari.

The Lagoon 400 is also just under 12m. At least in the Med the price is often determined by a length category (which often is way cheaper <12m) multiplied by a cat-factor of 1.3-1.5. Width is not part of that calculation so it's not an issue.
Some marinas price by square meter, which means cats end up paying almost twice the price of a mono with same length.

Re: Anybody have info on a new FP 40' cat?

Yes here I have 2 friends with 400's and due to being wider than 6,9 meters they won't let them in a 12 myrtle multihull berth. They are required to use a 14mtr multihull berth

So keep the secret!! I hope the folks in the Med marinas don't find this thread or they will increase the cat prices again.

Sisterships to see in Annapolis. Call Eric Smith

Good to know. I may give you a call when Euro reaches 0.8 USD or so.

What is a Euro based Dollar? And a guaranteed euro based dollar at that?

NETNOB or NB2013,

I am 100% positive that your intentions are bordering malice and that you work for a competitor of FP.

You register in 2013, don't post a thing, and all of a sudden you come out of the woodwork with THE NEW 40 thread and start posting neverending negative drivel?

Just stay off. We will be purchasing one of these.

Re: New FP 40

Apologies, I did not want to kill the thread!

Our quest continues. However, due to the sheer number of videos and miscellaneous propaganda by dealers favoring Fountain Pajot and putting down other catamaran companies, we have been greatly turned off and decided to stay away from FP.

As if they are the only company on earth who knows how to make a catamaran!

Of course, 3 months old Helia 44 that had rust bleeding into the plastic on top of sliding cocpit door and their overpriced, horrid-looking 10-year-old design Summerland 40 played a part in this choice.

Good luck to everyone else with New 40! But FP is not for us.

Dear CountingCrows,

Are you the same guy who said 6 days ago to NETNOB / NB2013 that you "Will be purchasing one of "these" (FP cats)?
