My boat is a custom designed yacht, but built by the same boatyard, Alumarine. They have been building large aluminium boats for a long time and I can vouch for the quality of their construction and welding.

Does anyone know the price? They look expensive.

its only money.
and a alu boat gives you a lot more safety then the normal "Tupperwear"
like we have

mybe when i sell the house and go deep sailing. it can be an ALU.

less maintens, no pollish jobbs. and will take a hit with no problems.

No polish jobs? You're would leave it unpainted? In the last few weeks I've seen a couple of aluminium cats which had unpainted hulls, and they look really bad. (presently anchored not far from one) They turn a sort of blotchy dark grey, with streaks everywhere.

Practical maybe, but not very nice to look at.

Interestingly there's also what looks like a Wharram design nearby, that appears to be built in steel. (Judging by the rust streaks)

My wife and I had this discussion a while back about the overall look of the yacht. I'm on the side of it looking great coming and going to the yacht. My wife states, what difference how the aesthetics look, you can't see it while you're on it..." LOL, can't argue with that obvious logic...
