I don't know - the bridgedeck clearance looks very low aft and the leading edge is also very blunt.

Driver looks a bit on the exposed side. Maybe a windshield of sorts as a minimum.

I have seen the 45. Not impressed. By the looks only (and only externally - I was watching from the dock) not anywhere close to the old Garcias.

BTW Anybody knows how the story goes? The company was not around for a time (or dormant) and now there are new boats but they seem to be unrelated to the old ones.

Just wondering. I liked (watching) the original Garcias.

Re: New alucat from Garcia . sc 48

Hi,
Garcia was purchased by Grand Large Yachting a few years ago. This is the "parent" company (basically two partners) who own Allure , which they started from scratch, they then purchased Outremer after Gerard Danson, the founder died, Garcia was acquired a few years ago and most recently Alumarine. All in France.
Garcia has built a few hundred aluminum monohulls over the years up to, if my memory is correct, 105 feet in length. During the Garcia history they have also built a few cats designed by others and built for owners. Whether you like the design or not, Garcia has always built quality boats as have all of the companies in the group. Garcia built Aventura which is Jimmy Cornells current expedition boat. She is beautifully constructed.
To be clear we, Just Catamarans, represent Outremer. That's the short story.

Hi,
This is not new, not Garcia:
Alumarine 48'

Alu Marine belongs to Grand Large Yachting too.

Thanks for this explanation.

I have not seen Aventura. I have seen (what I think may be) the sistership.

I was not impressed by how she was built but as I said I could only see the boat from the outside (at the dock). Neither did I like some design details.

Given the experience behind the group, I have no doubt they are capable of top notch quality.
