Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Well, according to Gregor, the first one will be going to the Caribbean (owner lives in Indiana) so you won't get to see that one out west!

I posted some pictures I took Saturday on the here on Cruisers Forum forum.

Alpha 42

Hey all. I know it is recently launched but any good info or reviews out there beyond their website and blog? And yes. I tried google

I'm looking for a 40-45 cat and am intrigued by the styling if nothing else

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Thanks for posting these pictures. This Alpha 42 looks awesome in the water. From what I hear Gregor told me that they are finishing the interior up and the first one should be leaving the yard mid Sept. I guess they wil be needing to test and tune it.

Gregor said that they hope to show it at the boat show">Annapolis Boat Show. Guess where I will be in Otober ?

Just looked at the boat list. No Alpha 42 for the Annapolis boat show? Was really looking forward to seeing her.

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

From the website.

Contrary to original plans to show the very first Aeroyacht ALPHA 42 catamaran at the Annapolis Boat Show, it has been decided to offer customers a more personalized viewing experience rather than presenting the boat during a chaotic boat show environment.

And check out the new interior pics. Sweeeet!

And FWIW: Another poster said he thought that the 1st buyer was from the US but I thought I read that he was German.

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Alpha 42 #1 is definitely owned by a very nice German couple. At the launch party they did a great job making the required offerings to gods of sea and wind.

We're very sad that Alpha 42 #1 won't make the Annapolis Boat Show. For lots of reasons...

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Guys

Did everyone see the new pictures of the saloon. Amazing styling !

When I called the yard I was told that they are about to complete the first boat, have already started assembling the second unit and are laying up the hulls for the third boat. Seems that production at Alpha Yachts is in full swing. (who said US manufacturing is dead ?)

Here are some photos of the interior. Very cool: http://www.aeroyacht.com/sailing-cat...aran/interior/

Seems the galley design is borrowed from Outremer.

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

I actually ran into an Aeroyacht employee at Annapolis. The Alpha wasn't ready. Too bad. It would have added to the event. There were lots of nice catamarans there. I'm still having wet dreams over the 5X.

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Hey Fans, Alpha 42 #1 has had a sea trial under sail. Check out the Aeroyacht build blog for pics. Alpha 42 First Sail Trials - Aeroyacht

A week ago we were on #1 and saw the somewhat modified #2 and #3 under construction. There is no doubt these are really solid well-built cats.

Wow - the A42 looks beautiful under sail! The twilight/ sunset setting is a nice touch too.

It is amazing to watch the journey from the design images to real live sailing vessel. I can't wait to see one in person!

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

Multihulls quarterly reviewed hull number 2 in NY before it sailed to the Caribbean.

We had a chance to test sail it there and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Aeroyacht has a link to the article:

Re: New Alpha 42 to be Built in the US

BTW they have continued to improve the boat both based on the hull 1 experience and other incremental improvements.

Here are some pics of the current rudder and tiller arm hardware. It's my 1st time posting pics, so hopefully this will work
