Very interesting. I really want to see one of those in person.

So seems like an amazing boat!

We've been aboard their 45 and the larger (65?), but both seemed cramped due to having all the cabins on the deck level. But now, having just the owner's up top, it looks airy and clean.

Most trimarans do sail on just 2 hulls upwind but we like having a spare in case we get a flat.

Re: Neel 51 Trimaran Article in Yachtingworld

So I understand the cons:

Multihull, but still heeling to some degree (not as comfortable or family safe as a cat)

More expensive and rarer ability to haul out.

Extremely cramped berths and heads for a multihull (other than owner's berth), especially for that size.

Even fewer places to dock than cats.

Other than that insane engine room, what are the pros again?

I agrre on the heel, one would need to try if one likes it or not. It somewhere between a mono and a cat... Page 15 and following the mention a few advantages compared to some other well known cats...
Any thoughts about these statements?

If you are a NEEL dealer it's logical to point only the pros and never the cons....

Re: Neel 51 Trimaran Article in Yachtingworld

The only real advantage to the tri is they are more liveable in the event of capsize. However you have to maintain an airlock in the amas and I'm not sure the Neel is really designed around this parameter

Re: Neel 51 Trimaran Article in Yachtingworld

For me the major disadvantage of a tri compared to a cat is at anchor. A tri is always heeling somewhat on the one or other outer hull while a cat sits flat. This is why I personnaly would never consider one.

I agree with most of your post. Haul out could be a concern and the lean is more than a catamaran.

However I think the staterooms are no different than in what you might find in an Outremer or a Seawind. And the main stateroom is substantially better.
