Need Advice ...Please

I have a small 26 foot Dean cat that i sail in land, what HP motor would be recomended for this yacht?

All advice apreciated...

Hiya St! An outboard in the 8-10 HP should do, for your boat's size. Have fun!

I think Mauritz is spot on here... I wouldn't be afraid to go to 15 HP if a deal is out there... bigger? no....

You need a Yamaha 9.9 high thrust. I believe it is the only
outboard now designed for use on yachts. Low revving but high thrust and less cavitation.

I looked up a few and found they leaned more to what you were thinking... also a Dean 26 was a bit heavier/more windage than I remembered.. they had twin 15's/20's... I still think if you are going for one motor 40 is high, but OK... You said inland lake... you just want to putt at 6ish?
