Need a Reasonable Cat Slip

Hi All,

I'm looking for a slip along the Texas Coast, between Port 'A' and Galveston, that will handle a cat that is 35 X 17. Most of the places I've tried so far can't handle a cat this size, or they are just too expensive. I would like one that has access to open water.

Definition of "too expensive" is very subjective of course....

You could try Island Moorings at Port Aransas / Mustang Island. Your draft should be fine in their sometimes skinny channel. We had our previous boat there and enjoyed the facilities / people. OTOH I was trapped in there for about 8 months with a 6ft draft boat while they dredged the channel.

Also check out the City Marina at Palacious. It sounded great to us until we discovered 6ft draft would not get in.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I guess reasonable is relative. I'm paying about $1500.00 a year now, so I'd like to stay in that range. I know that's a pretty good price, but I don't have easy access to open water, so I'm looking to relocate. I'll check out the ones you mentioned.

Yowza... I pay more than that for a dock on a canal at an empty lot, no water or power.....
