Need a Captain to Learn From

Im looking for a bareboat charter (Catamaran) with a captain/sailing instructor.

I need recommendations on a Captain for a week in the Caribbean. I will be solo on the boat with Captain. I want A: Relearn the ropes of sailing. And B: See if I like living on a boat.

This is the beginning of a ten year dream. I plan on buying a used sailboat in the near future. A Gemini, a strong possibility.

I am going to be in Panama City for about eight days starting Aug. 28, 2013 and then Ill be able to go anywhere in the Caribbean/Florida area.

I would love to hear any ideas.

Thank you all,

Ty

You could join on with a charter where you book one of the cabins. Meet a few more people and a bit less costly.

With Grouchy Turtle you would be killing two fish with one spear!

Chris is a pretty good guy I think.

Love to join you, ty.gregory but skippering a boat (mono) through the Channel Islands from Labor Day through late Sept. Otherwise sounds like a fun passage you are offering... cheers, Phil

If you're in Panama City, get in touch with Pete Wodraska at Reef Runner Charters. I don't know that he still has a catamaran, but he might know someone.

Im in Panama, but my cat is already put to bed for the season. Not really practical to get her charter ready, but if you just wanted to do some boat handling we might could work something out. Could take you through the ASA Cruising Catamaran class if that interests you.

Or, we could line up another boat here if you want to do a full week aboard.

Also, a friend runs an ASA school in Belize and I will probably teach for him some this coming season. So, continuing there is an option too.
