I'd enjoy hearing more or seeing photos; I've gotten reviews from both ends of the spectrum, and have hoped they'd make some improvements as I really like the Nautitech - both the 40 and the 46.

By that same token I've heard mixed reviews about every boat I've researched, so it all comes down to which boat is best for my needs/wants, and where I'm willing to compromise!

Re: Nautitech Open 46

Nautitech Bavaria

New NAUTITECH 40 OPEN
Come and discover her during Cannes Festival Boatshow!
The stylish design of the hull, the new luxurious layout inside and many new features have made the best seller from Rochefort, France even more attractive.
Just a glance at the hull is enough for one to appreciate the new design of the NAUTITECH 40 OPEN. Four large hull windows provide the cabins with even more light. The redesigned roof will enhance the streamlined silhouette and “Open Concept” of this award winning yacht.
The remodelled structure with large windows has optimised the helmsman’s 360-degree view from both helm station. A skylight window in the cockpit roof provides the helmsman a clear view of the mainsail’s trim.
The layout of the salon is a revolutionary new feature. The luxurious new lounge area with a comfortable U-shaped sofa can now be found on the port side. And for those who don’t want to lose touch with the office on long trips, a desk can be included in the lounge area, if so desired.
The galley on the NAUTITECH 40 OPEN is the link between the cockpit and the salon. Stove, oven and sink all face the cockpit and are now more than ever part of the “Open Concept”, the symbiosis of cockpit and salon to form one living space. Opposed you can find a large workspace and generous storage area for everything a galley could possibly need.
The cabins in the new NAUTITECH 40 OPEN are exquisite and spacious. More light through the large hull windows and the clever lighting concept with LED lights make the cabins greater and even lighter. The attention to detail and the beautiful design of the bathrooms with their designer washbasins, quality materials and teak gratings will impress. Additional hatches on deck will optimise the ventilation in the cabins.
The NAUTITECH 40 OPEN is available as a 3-cabin version and a 4-cabin version.
“With the new NAUTITECH 40 OPEN, Marc Lombard as the naval architect, and the development team at BAVARIA CATAMARANS have delivered a true masterpiece.
"The new layout, the design and all the new features raise the NAUTITECH 40 OPEN to a new level”, said Lutz Henkel, CEO at BAVARIA YACHTS.
The new NAUTITECH 40 OPEN will celebrate its WORLD PREMIERE at Cannes Yachting Festival, between 12th and 17th of September.

I'm not the one that posted it, so maybe he/she has more information but if you search for the text, it's on a few sites out there. I'm guessing a press-release they sent out to a few journalists?

I haven't stumbled on any photos or renders in my searches unfortunately.

The Open 46 is at the top of my wishlist, but the Open 40 is a lot friendlier to the wallet. It was really hard removing it from the list after deciding the salon just isn't good enough for life aboard. Even though I'm the cook, I didn't mind the tidy galley, but I just can't imagine living with that table and no actual lounge space in the salon. So I'm very excited to see what changes they've come up with!

I found a few references to it, and it looks like Aeroyacht in NY may have som new photos, but I can't decipher his pages!

Here's what I've found:
If that table folds out for 4, and still drops down to make a double, that looks great IMO! I'm not a big fan of the split galley, but it still looks functional and I can see how it helps open up the space.

Re: Nautitech Open 46

Wow. This new version could be a great option if all turns out well. I think the new layout is a great improvement in a boat I would already consider an option. I can't wait for it to be official. If anybody gets a price list, please share.

Re: Nautitech Open 46

Slightly off topic but Catana have reissued their specs to include many items that were options in the standard spec. This makes it a lot more palatable for the buyer on price (or "options shock"). The reason is also interesting. It is well documented that they have stretched themselves launching Bali and were failing miserably on delivery dates. Mid-buikd customisation is a big factor in this and it is easier for them to build the options into a standard spec than to keep breaking the production line to do custom jobs on small numbers of Catana. They have a post sales facility for that. My main concern with the O46 was the amount of friction that would build up in the running rigging and the helms. I do not like the lowered helm, although that is a personal preference and it does give design flexibility that manifests in some nice touches.

Re: Nautitech Open 46

Keep in mind; those photos and renderings are of the O40; I've not found anything yet on the 46. If the changes are as dramatic, it could be interesting! That said, the price of the 40 is challenging enough, let alone the 46 :-(

Congratulations!
Do you know if the new model has any updates or changes over the last year modeL?
I really like the boat, but my wife is not fond of the idea of the helm stations; during our last trip from Annapolis to Martha's Vineyard we experienced fog, rain, some fair seas (8'), all of which would have made those helms ugly! If the fix is to build hard or soft top biminis then it will look odd.

If the boat will only see fair weather it should be great fun!
