Multihull in Galveston, Texas

I have searched for places to check out catamarans in Texas but I am not having much luck. The reason I am looking is we will be in Galveston for a week in the middle of March and we would like to see if there is anywhere close to tour a few of them. does anyone have any knowledge of somewhere I can take my husband to see some cats? I have done a google search of anything from multihull to catamarain to sail boat but have not come up with anything. Thank you foar any information.

Have you tried yachtworld. If you use there advanced search function you can specify multihull and that region. Pretty much anything worth seeing is listed on yachtworld.

Texas is probably not the hotbed of cruising vessels with one or more hulls. (but looking for 'em is always fun anyway)

How new? How big? What pricerange? I know of a 36' Solaris Sunstar for about 100K. If you are interested, I can get you more info. Also, Sea Lake Yacht Sales handles Lagoons.

It probably isn't the hotbed of multihulls. But, if you want you can list all the hotbeds it is of. My favorite, hot woman, or so I've heard.

I just knew that some feller from Texas would have his hackles raised a touch! Just referencing cruising yacht density versus coastline. Consider Fl or New England-- per coastline mile it's easy to hit the marinas. In Texas there's some faithful cruisers but you've got to poke around a bit more and what looks like a marina can more often than not just have primarily workboats.

Not disparaging you guys, just sayin'.

Here are some of our neighbors cruising the Bahamas right now, having left in Nov/Dec. Three from our marina, and 2 from neighboring marinas. Lol, they are now known as the Texas Navy in the Exumas! I also have a friend there now on his cat. Shroud Cay to Nassau | Jascat to the Bahamas and one more on his way to Belize. Just made port in Mexico yesterday.

Truth be told, we are unsure what we would like. That is the reason we are trying to find places to go look at them. We are in Oklahoma and I am sure there are none in this state. We have looked all over the net and pictures are a good start but we want to get the feel of them and see if what we have in our minds truly works in real life. We only need 2 berths but 3 will be fine as the extra can be a "dry room" for storage.We are not setting a price as it is hard to know a true value without seeing the quality. (I hope that doesnt sound wrong).

I just checked the broker listings that I am familiar with in the Galveston/Kemah/Clear Lake area. You are pretty much out of luck seeing any cats here. As mentioned by others, you'll have to hit the East Coast if you want to see a variety of cats. That, or plan a vacation to the BVI's.
