Thanks Etienne. I appreciate the encouragement. Exit Only will sail once again because we want to sail back to
Australia through the
South Pacific. I'm just not sure when it will happen.
My heart is not in a land-based existence, and I barely tolerate the over-regulated lifestyle found in "civilization". If I wasn't working with Native Americans in a multicultural, multilingual job, I think I would go crazy. I enjoy the time working on the Indian reservations at Fort Apache and down in the Grand Canyon at Havasupai when I am not in Phoenix. Flying up to the reservations in small aircraft sometimes is a real adventure as we dodge thunderstorms in the summer monsoon and snow storms in the
winter at the higher elevations. Sometimes I have to call in translators to talk to my older Apache and Navaho patients. I suspect that this is the only job that I could have taken in America and been happy. I am lucky to have a job that I like while living in "civilization".
At this point, I dont have any plans. I only have things that I want to do before I get too old to enjoy them.
Living in "civilization" is like sailing to windward every day, and I am ready for a different point of sail.
I'm not complaining about my life. By any measure, including all the ups and downs, I have been blessed, and life is good. I am convinced that there is no limit to how good my life can become as long as I live my dreams. All I need to do is to select the dream and have the courage to make it happen. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
