multihole sailboats

I've just come to the conclusion that my monohull is actually a multihole.

Installing this hyd. steering and a new loose footed mainsail, I've drilled so many HOLEs I can't count them in my head. And that doesn't include the 300-400 holes already in the deck with tracks and other rigging.

Anyway, I'll be off to the Straits of Georgia for three weeks trying out the new goodies. I know I'm going to like this hyd. steering. When I let go of the wheel it stays put just like a tiller tamer. I'll be able to see the feedback through the hyd. gauges I've installed on the pedistal. And I can still return back to the tiller at the flip of a valve in the cockpit..........._/)

It's not a problem unless you get all the holes in a line. Then it could easily become "tear across the dotted line" and your Multihole turns into a multihull.

As always, the more gadgets you have, the more holes you have.

Gee Alan, now you got me worried. All those tracks on deck

No not really! I've got large SS backing plates where I can get them.

And KN your right about those gadgets. Every time I do an up grade I have to punch another hole or reconfigure the old hole to accomindate.

Just like the old sounder. It left a hole 2-1/2" in diameter. I had to build a fiberglass plug, glass it in and then redrill for a 5/8 transducer. the head was still 2-1/2" across but the shaft was small. It's a dual frequancy unit now.

My old main halyard traveller was across the last third of the cockpit, now it's across the deck forward of the transom, 16 more holes, and plug 14................................................ ..._/)
