Maverick 40

My wife likes the interior roomy feel and I have concerns about performance, but since coastal cruising is where we are headed, quality and maintenance are the bigger concerns. Any Maverick owners willing to comment about this as the last chats I saw were in 2010, and I assume the builder may have addressed a number of issues since then?

Re: Maverick 40

Maverick stopped production of the 40 and introduced the 440 (hull extensions aft) a number of years ago. Search for threads on the Maverick 440 and you will get some more current discussions on the breed.

PS By the way, welcome to the forum.

Re: Maverick 40

Hi also looking at the Maverick 400 (still being produced) and the 440. Agree the internal space looks much better than its rivals. Currently looking through the available blogs of those sailing round the world - Catlyn (now Seismic Wave) : Our rose among others in order to get an idea of sailing capabilities. Understand there are now 16 on the water. Also would love to hear from those who have enjoyed / are enjoying sailing these boats. I have read all the web info on hull #2 so please no regurgitation of info on that boat .

Re: Maverick 40

If anyone is interested I saw one for charter in NW Netherlands, I think it was in Harlingen. I have no more info other than it looked in good condition but didn't look much used. Here is the address: http://www.samen-maritiem.nl Its all Dutch which I don't read but everyone there speeks English so just send in your info and you should get a reply. I do have a photo of it where the phone number appears to be +31 (0)6 51 11 44 82, again, start talking English and you should be ok. This tech flunky couldnt attach the photo.
