make and model and year?

Hi guys, new here.
Can anyone give me some info please. What make and model and year is this folding tri? And also what it might be valued at (if anything). Only had a quick look yesterday, I have as yet to get it on the beach and have a better look at it. It seems solid and dry inside. It doesn't come with a trailer (i can make one for it to get it home and work on it). Its a deceased estate. Currently in Gove harbour, comes with a mooring.

Can't tell anything about the boat, looks like home made "something". But I'd like to comment "Its a deceased estate" part. Very sadly - often this is the only case when boat gets real $ value. Because this is real "must sell NOW" situation, not BS which I've seen in many listings for years.

looks like some homebrewn design and build. Even once restored its not worth much, maybe even less than cost of parts, tools and yard fees.

The folding system on it looks very similar to Farrier. Is it possible it's had a new cabin fitted at some stage?
Yes I was thinking it would be expensive for refit. No yard fees. I'll do it at my place. I'm thinking it's worth a carton of beer!

Near new VHF and a couple of fishing rods, could be worth a few cartons of beer.

Thanks for the replies so far.
The story with the deceased estate is....
The owner died (a nice guy, I knew him) and his wife remarried. The wife and new husband have no interest in it and it will be basically left to rot.

Re: make and model and year?

If the rig and hulls are sound I would guess this tri could sell for 8 to 12 thousand dollars. Not that you should pay that. But you are not likely to be able to buy most any multi- hull for that. At least not one that two people could live on. If you could live with this small of a living space this could be a great multi- hull. And they are fast ! Ignore the nay- sayers. They donít like the boat and it wouldnít work for me either, but it might be great for you.

Re: make and model and year?

Thanks captlloyd. This is the sort of info I'm after!
I'll have a better look when it's on the beach. At first glance under the cover the sail seemed sound. Couldn't see anything glaringly wrong with the rigging.
I had a 30' Robert's spray. A bit bigger inside but just so intolerably slow! I haven't used a trimaran before. The living space seems reasonable if it was modernised a bit.

Re: make and model and year?

Itís an ugly little bugger, but from the photos appears sound. If the price is right it could be fun!

Sailmonkey. You are right! But Gove seems to be where ugly yachts come to when the world rejects them. There is a few ugly cats here too. Ugly but fast! I guess speed isn't a fashion parade.
Anyone have tips on how and where to check for rot in plywood under fiberglass?

Thatís easy. The fiberglass skin is almost always thin enough where a gentle tapping with a soft hammer will readily reveal any bad spots. Also if the inside isnít painted the ply will be dark where water has gotten in. The beams may be more difficult to diagnose.....unless theyíre straight fiberglass.

Re: make and model and year?

A decent moisture meter helps to identifiy spots / regions that have higher moisture than the others which indicates trouble (rot or soon-to-be-rot). Then tapping with a hard wood plug or plastic mallet should give you a distinct sound.
If you want to know for sure: drill
