Lowest Cost, Coldest Place to Haul 25' Beam East Coast USA?

Getting into the planning to keep my catamaran and finish it.

It was built in basically tropical conditions. The good part about that was I could work year round with epoxy. The bad part was you couldn't wear protective suits and properly isolate yourself from epoxy. I got sensitized.

To finish the interior and rig and do a few small bits of epoxy work, I want to locate it in cold weather as the protective gear and hard work keep you plenty warm.

Does anyone know of a colder place where I could spend about $200/mo to keep her on the hard and do this work? Parking an RV right next to her too? I need to go into full production mode again if I'm going to get her finished.

Doesn't need to be a marina or boat yard. Just need power and water and road access. Can haul with a trailer on a boat ramp or crane and slings. Does not need to be a pretty setting. Industrial is fine. Should, however, not be high crime area.

Thanks!

Should be easy coast USA or inland USA since she's not ready to do big crossings yet, but can motor wherever.

Torensen Marine in Muskegon, MI would be around the price if you paid a year upfront perhaps. That’s a huge boat for $200/ month

Thanks for the tip. It's definitely a good size boat for $200/mo by that's why I'm trying to ask here. Looking to put the budget into the boat rather than into rent.

I may have also misspoke saying coldest place. I meant to say cold place. A mild winter climate without going over the 75 degree mark much in the summer would also work well.

Boat is currently in South Florida. Michigan is a hike fr there but willing to consider pretty much anywhere.

There are several DIY boat yards in NC. And it gets plenty cold there in the winter! McCotters boat yard in Washington NC would let you live there and park a camper/RV next to the boat. I don't think there lift will handle 25 ft beam though. But they might know somewhere that could.

Thank you. This is why I asked. Never heard of this boatyard and didn't know there were a lot of places in NC that might be suitable.

A bit hot in the summer but I can probably take summers off once it gets too hot.

Not sure what their monthly charge would be but I think they can haul you. Located in New Bern NC.

The further north you go the fewer yards there are to accommodate a cat, thus the price goes up and the availability goes down. Most yards here in New England are already booked ( per sq ft) . Maine Cats are made in Maine and could steer you to a yard there. Massachusetts only has one yard capable of haul out in Newburyport next closest is Cove Haven Marina in Barrington, RI. I hope this helps. Fair winds.

Try Shaw's Boatyard in Dighton, MA. Lots of Cats there. Not sure on the rates but you can do your own work.

Marina Cove Boat Basin in Hampton Va

I was there last week helping someone work on their catamaran. It was the only place they could find that would agree to pull their boat in its "rough" condition and let them live aboard while working on it. I believe he has a functional crane, I have seen some large trimarans in the yard there.

Take a look at George Town Yacht basin on the Chesapeake Bay.
Georgetown, Maryland. There are also many other options on the northern Chesapeake Bay.

Dennis Point Marina, Drayden, southern Maryland, allows DIY and has an RV park next to it. Can haul a 47ft Catana (just)

Fairhaven Shipyard in Fairhaven MA with 3 travel lifts and a railway can also haul pretty big catamarans, however I'm not sure if they support DIY or long term storage on the hard. They are a big commercial yard dealing with yachts and big fishing vessels. We hauled our Catana 48 there after a lightning strike in ME.
