You might try Harbortown Marina on the Barge
Canal in Merritt Island. It's much cheaper than the port Canaveral
marinas and it has a lot of amenities like a swimming pool. They have
Catamaran slips but probably cannot handle a 60 footer. We looked at it for our 45 foot cat and that would be no problem. I think with livaboard
fees it was going to be about 7-800 a month. Getting to the ocean means a transit of the locks to Port Canaveral. The trip south from there is much easier than the
ICW. Some people will go due east across the
gulf stream from there, then
head south into the Abacos. You might loose 20 miles to the
current, but that beats 200 miles to Ft Lauderdale.
