Inspired by Wayward Wind"s post in anohter thread I want to bump this thread back up to see if anyone has anything else to add.

We are looking at a bigger boat and the Lightwave 45 has come into focus. We intend to fly up to have a look at he 45 Grande.

test sail

Daniel

Lightwave plans to offer test sails in Sydney this coming Feb.

See below an excerpt of email I received from Deborah at LW:

- Charter 45' Grande, Sailing Version - via Sydney Harbour Escapes (from November) or Charter Yachts Australia, vessel "Reflections"
- Grande Test Sail - in Sydney is planned for February 2010.

You can contact her at sales@lightwaveyachts.com

Cheers!

Thanks John,

In fact I will be able to look down on the Sydney baot when it arrives in Rose Bay.

I was more interested in what flicks your switches about the Lightwave 45.

I have spoken to Deborah, very helpful.

Trying to fly up next week.

Hi DtM, I'm interested in your thoughts on the LW45 when you get a look at one. It's on my short list along with the Dolphin 460 and Outremer 49. I think Stallion Marine is building a Spirited 480 which you might be able to see while you're up North. I haven't seen the Spirited boats up close yet, but they will have a 380 at the Paris show which I will be attending in a few weeks.

I have just spoken to Spirited Designs and the only 480 that is under construction is in Tasmania. So it is not going to fit into this trip.

Before deciding to buy an Orana, I had Lightwave on my list. I went through their web site , read all of the owners blog (one was circumnavigating I guess) and was impressed. It looks, safe, fast and robust. The price also was reasonable. At that time (I don't know now) the only option was the galley down which was a deal killer for me. If you don't mind this, I think it should be on top of everyone's list ast this range of cat.

I'm reading a lot of positive comments about Lightwave in general, but I'm wondering if there are people out there with negative experiences. I only just signed up with this forum and the main reason for doing so was to find out if there are people out there who have been through the same horrors as we have with our Lightwave yacht.

Hi Gordon,

As a matter of fact Elaine and I were just talking about that very topic yesterday and this morning.

I am a bit stuck this week but how are you placed for us to come to you some time next week?

amanda,

The useful thing about this forum is that you canuse it to tell us what your experiences hae been.

Of course there shoudl be moderation in all things and you may prefer touse the Personal Message facility rather than spread your views far and wide.

I for one am interested because a Lightwave 45 is on our radar.

Oh, welcome !!

daniel

Hi Daniel,

I just sent one of the other forum members a private message in regards to this and I will send you one too.

At this stage I'm a bit hesitant to write in too much detail about the problems we've had on the forum, because we can easily be identified by that, and we're hoping we can still work things out with Lightwave in a friendly way.

Still getting caught up on threads but dang, the Freeflow look promising.

Amanda, share when you can. Don't want to put you in a compromising situation with LW. Hoping for the best that it all works out for the best.

Amanda2, could you please let me know the problems you are having also? I am planning to visit the LW factory in Coomera when I'm in Australia early next year. Any info you could offer would be a big help as I continue my eval.

Thanks in advance,
Doug
