Yes, absolutely! Lightwave isn't listed as an exhibitor at either the Paris or Miami shows, so I may have to go an Aussie show to see the LW 45.

LW has a good website, but it's hard to get a sense for the cockpit & saloon areas and how they flow without seeing the boat. Two other concerns that I have, one big, one minor: It doesn't look like there is much space to go forward on the deck - could be a big issue in heavy seas and weather. And the trampolines look really small.

Not sure how the Lightwave folks have handled the recession. There's no updated news on their website since january 2009, which is a bit troubling. Would love to hear from anyone who has info.

Hi DtM, I'm interested in your thoughts on the LW45 when you get a look at one. It's on my short list along with the Dolphin 460 and Outremer 49. I think Stallion Marine is building a Spirited 480 which you might be able to see while you're up North. I haven't seen the Spirited boats up close yet, but they will have a 380 at the Paris show which I will be attending in a few weeks.

I have just spoken to Spirited Designs and the only 480 that is under construction is in Tasmania. So it is not going to fit into this trip.

Before deciding to buy an Orana, I had Lightwave on my list. I went through their web site , read all of the owners blog (one was circumnavigating I guess) and was impressed. It looks, safe, fast and robust. The price also was reasonable. At that time (I don't know now) the only option was the galley down which was a deal killer for me. If you don't mind this, I think it should be on top of everyone's list ast this range of cat.
