Lightning strikes, sail drives and insurance

Our Fountaine Pajot Athena was hit twice in a ten minute period, cooking 95% of everything electric/electronic. We think the bolts exited thru the sail drives as, upon getting the boat out of water, both of the boots that protect the saildrive diaphrams were missing (we had just installed new ones 6 months ago, with metal brackets to hold 'em on) and the "water in the saildrive" alarms came on when I was testing the engines.
So, here's the question: Has anyone had experience with lightning damage to saildrives (they are Yanmar sd20's)?
Any general advice on dealing with insurance companies for lightning coverage would also be appreciated, we have a Seaworthy policy
