Leopard Airconditioning Defect-HELP

The a/c in the owners version starboard hull ( owners side) can't cool the yacht.

Both Supply registers and return grille are to close to each other, and are too far away from bed and head, so those areas don't cool adequately.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to correct this problem?

Thanks

Join the Leopard Owners Forum on Yahoo Groups - it is a busy group with a lot of knowledge. Pose your question there but give your model Leopard in your post as there have been many different models over the years.

Re: Leopard Airconditioning Defect-HELP

I actually y have 3 ac units

16,000btu for the salon
12,000btu for the 2 port cabins
12,000btu for the strbd cabin

port and salon work fine, starboard ssukc the cooled air into the return before it has a chance to cool the strbd side.

Leopard acknowledged the problem on friday and is sending experts from South Africa on the 7th to correct the situation.

I would call that great customer service.

Starblossum:

Please update us after the Leopard reps make the modifications. One of the comments I've heard from Lagoon and FP owners is that there is virtually no customer service after the sale. A good friend, who purchased a new Lagoon 380, has had nothing but headaches since the purchase 2 years ago. I've heard very positive things about Leopard's customer support.

Re: Leopard Airconditioning Defect-HELP

I have had the Leopard 48 for 3 months.
Leopard has attended to the defects that the crew noticed on the delivery from South Africa and I am returning the boat to them this week at which time they will correct all the other warranty items.
The salesman, Peter Wiersma, has been very helpful and concerned that I am happy with the boat.
The air-conditioning design defect is the only design defect I have encountered to date.
Leopard is sending aircond experts to Fort Lauderdale to correct the problem with the system on the owners, starboard, side.
I am sure you will love your new Leopard

Ed
