Thanks for the update (and photos). If true (failing to report the wreck for 3 weeks) it wouldn't surprise if the Port Captain hadn't also been involved in stripping the boat. Are you sure this happened in peaceful Mazatland and not on Venezuela?

A very sad story. As the investigation progress, I will keep the forum informed.

My bet is, the theif that stole the boat didn't strip it. I'll bet that it was stripped by locals as soon as they found that it was unattended.

Is the boat for sale as salvage??

Boat for sail (needs work)

Anyone want to claim a new (slightly used) cat (still for sail I imagine)?

At least the hull is intact, albeit full of sand and salt water at the moment.
What a shame, but a good find for someone who really wants a a good quality cat and can do the repairs!

Do you know if it is available and who to contact?

Wat a total waste..I wonder how they nabbed the right guy...The whole thing sounds fishy to me it was either a drug run or maybe his hot boat buyer never showed up.

But 3 weeks to report it..come on...bet the guy has a nice new flat screen in his hut.

Off topic a little...how come all you multi hull owners clam you cant sink em...anit the water supposed be on the outside?

If it was sunk, that's a pretty large air pocket.

LOL, by the looks of the water level - it seems they opened up the cocks in an attempt to sink it and were stymied as it got to the bridge deck and was still floating.

Don't forget, as well, the tons of lead not in the multi's keels.

Oh I will not argue you have twice the chance to remain floating over a mono..but are they really unsinkable?...Are the bridge decks full of foam giving positive bouncy regardless?

I'm not being flipent...I am asking because I dont know.
