Lagoon 440 dot matrix pattern on hull windows

Hi there. Our 2005 lagoon has a dot matrix pattern on the hull windows that has degraded or been weathered mostly off. I see the old posts of how to try & remove more of the white residue with acetone but can anyone here recommend a place to have the stencils remade that covers the windows as I see it is important to keep the sikaflex around the border of the window covered to protect it from uv damage. I can’t seem to find anything. TIA!

Try a local sign shop, self adhesive vinyl will provide and effective UV block.

What Vorpal said. It's exactly the same stuff that I have on some of my signs at work. Mine are black perforated vinyl over a white sign lens. Black during the day and white at night. They also use that same stuff on the windows of wrapped vehicles.

Isn't the pattern of ceramic border and dots to make the double sided 3m or Dow Corning tape stick very aggressively, and it is on the inside surface of the glass?

Why would your dots be on the exterior surface?

Re: Lagoon 440 dot matrix pattern on hull windows

We replaced our old screens with new a few months ago at Thunderbolt Marine Boatyard in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

The guy who did it charged approx. $250 total and took about an hour to do all of them while on the hard.

As said in other posts, this material should be relatively easy to source, perhaps, even online. It's not expensive.

The guy who installed didn't seam to have much trouble pulling the stickers off. Once that was done, and he'd cleaned the window, he sprayed the substance that is available for boat registration installs to give him a bit of ease in moving the new sticker into place while removing any wrinkles.

He then used a new razor knife to cut the perimeter of the sticker so that it fit perfectly to the shape of the window.

The material comes in rolls, so he would cut for each window's width (left to right measurement), apply it, then cut as described above.

Alternatively, as others have mentioned. Once you have the sticker off, you could apply a sticker to the interior side of the window, thus taking the typical sources of wear and tear out of the mix. Although the sticker would need its adhesive side facing the window, obviously,

The last option I've seen use, is to remove the old sticker and replace on the interior car window tint stickers, which, supposedly will keep sunlight from heating up the boat, be dark enough for most people's privacy needs, and creates an different look (dark windows) for your boat.

Good Luck!

Here is the reference for the adhesive from Lagoon, kit of 4:
Article 122499, KIT DECO PMMA COQUE (hull) 4 DÉCOS POLYEST CRISTAL
Price about €500. Only on recent models it is on the inside!
Never use Acetone, it is to strong for plexiglass, to remove the old printing, yes it is printed, that's the reason why is white on both side. May be use silicone remover, wood alcohol, just make sure there is no later damage to the plexiglass surface.
